However, it wasn’t that long time ago when a new type of conditioning and make-up products has been introduced into the market – ethical cosmetics. Do you know what it is? You can find multitude of cosmetics which are labelled as natural even though the content of natural substances used for their production is no higher than a few percent only. However, ethical cosmetics are completely different. You’ll recognize them by the fact that:
- they weren’t tested on animals;
- they don’t contain any animal originated substances, and if they do, the ingredients were obtained in a completely painless and stressless way for an animal;
- they are certified by pro-ecological institutions;
- they don’t contain parabens, petroleum derivatives, SLS, fragrances and artificial colourants;
- they are sold either in biodegradable or destined for recycling packages;
- they contain ingredients that are best for skin;
- the advertising slogans reflect the reality and aren’t just a part of marketing propaganda;
- the policy of a brand is clear;
- the company hires only professional employees;
- the ingredients come from trusted sources.
Ethical Cosmetics – Advantages
Ethical Cosmetics have many good sides. Undoubtedly, they include:
- easy application and fast absorption;
- minor or no risk of allergy reactions or acne;
- natural composition free from harmful and chemical substances;
- low risk of skin cancer;
- no tests run on animals;
- substances are obtained without using toxic agricultural chemicals.
Cruelty-Free Cosmetics
The term Cruelty-Free Cosmetics means that they weren’t tested on animals. Why is it so crucial while talking about cosmetic production? Running tests on animals is needless because:
- there are a few thousands harmless cosmetic ingredients that don’t need to be tested on animals;
- there are alternative ways of test running which don’t require animal participation;
- human differ from animals genetically so results of the researches will never be 100% applicable;
- tests run on animals are legally banned.
